Due to the isolation of circulating variant polio virus from both human and environmental sources in many states, the kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency is set to commence another round of Polio Immunization Campaign in all the nooks and crannies across the 16 LGAs from Saturday 2nd to Tuesday 5th November, to further urther boost the immunity of susceptible children

The Executive Secretary Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Nusirat Elelu disclosed this recently during an engagement meeting with chairmen Ward Development Committe in Ilorin.
Dr. Elelu noted that this round of polio outbreak response is aimed at protecting vulnerable Children below 5 years of age from Poliomyelitis.
Elelu disclosed that Health workers will visit Houses, Markets, Churches, Mosques, Schools and places of Social gathering to administer 2 drops of the Oral Polio Vaccine in the mouth of eligible children irrespective of their previous immunization status.
The Executive Secretary enjoined Mothers, Caregivers, Religious leaders and Traditional leaders to kindly co-operate with Health workers during this period to prevent incurable Paralysis, adding that the vaccine is free, safe and has no overdose.
