The Kwara State House of Assembly held its plenary proceedings on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, presided over by Speaker Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu. The House examined and approved the plenary votes and proceedings of Thursday, June 13, 2024.
Hon. Magaji Oba Abdulkadir (Ilorin Central) moved a motion on the need to avert the outbreak of cholera in Kwara State, seconded by Hon. Abolarin Ganiyu Gabriel (Ekiti). The House resolved to commend the Governor for his efforts in providing clean water and sanitation infrastructure and urged him to direct the Ministry of Health to conduct statewide cholera vaccination campaigns and enhance surveillance systems.
Hon. Sheun Oguniyi David (Ojomu Balogun) moved a motion on the need to mobilize for increased agricultural productivity and substance farming in rural agrarian communities, seconded by Hon. Saba Yisa Gideon (Edu). The House resolved to appreciate the Governor’s commitment to agricultural development and urged him to intensify efforts to rid the State of security threats, introduce subsidies on farm inputs, and curb the excesses of middlemen in the agricultural sector.
The House adjourned till Wednesday, July 17, 2024, following a motion moved by Hon. Magaji Oba Abdulkadir and seconded by Hon. Muhammed Kareem Musa.
