KWASSIP: Gov AbdulRahman committed to youth investment, good governance, others – Gadaff

 

S.A youth empowerment to the executive Governor of kwara State, Hon. Sulaimon Lekan Gadaff has said Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq’s commitment to good governance in the state has extends to investing in young people.

In a statement made available to Just Event Online TV on Wednesday

Gadaff said the governor also recognized the potential of young people in driving development and has implemented policies and programs aimed at empowering and supporting them.

In a statement made available to Just Event Online TV on Wednesday, he noted that establishment of the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP) is one of the potential ways Governor Abdulrasaq helped young people in the State

The program is designed to alleviate poverty, create jobs, and empower youth and women in the state. Under KWASSIP, the governor has provided interest-free loans and grants to young entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. This has enabled young people to become self-employed and contribute to the development of the state, he said

“In addition to KWASSIP, the governor has also invested in education and skills development for young people. His administration has established a vocational and technical college in the state, providing training in various skills, including welding, carpentry, and plumbing. The college aims to equip young people with the necessary skills to become self-employed and contribute to the economy of the state”.

He noted that Governor Abdulrasaq also prioritized youth empowerment through sports development, added that his administration has invested in sports facilities and programs to promote talent development and create opportunities for young people to excel in sports. The governor has supported the development of local football clubs, including Kwara United FC, and provided support to young athletes to compete in national and international competitions.

“The governor has provided opportunities for young people to participate in governance and decision-making processes. His administration has established a youth advisory council, which serves as a platform for young people to provide input and contribute to policy formulation and implementation in the state”.

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq’s commitment to good governance in Kwara State extends to investing in young people. Through programs and policies aimed at empowering and supporting young people, the governor has provided opportunities for them to contribute to the development of the state. The governor’s investment in young people has not only improved their lives but also contributed to the growth and development of Kwara State, he added.
