KWASAA Ready To Regularise Unapproved Erected Billboards, Signposts

The kwara state signage and Advertisement Agency ( KWASAA ) , has began aggressive monitoring and enforcement of the agency’s policies across the sixteen (16 ) local government area of the state.

In a statement signed and released to newsmen by the press secretary of the agency, mallam Abubakar Owolabi, said the agency was ready to regularise unapproved billboards and signposts erected across the 16 council areas in the state.

The KWASAA DG, honourable Olorunshola Omotayo explaining that the exercise which was part of the agency’s activities for the outgoing year, was to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations of the agency.

Olorunshola expressed worry over non compliance with the laid down rules and regulations by some advertising practitioner and other stakeholders in an attempt to promote themselves and their businesses, describing it as lawlessness.

He emphasised that the ongoing exercise would lead to removal of unauthorized and debtors’ billboards as well as signposts across the state.

The Director General also cautioned the politicians, individuals, schools, religions bodies, filling stations, corporate organizations and advertising practitioners to desist from pasting illegal posters and erecting unauthorized billboards.

He urged advertising practitioner and other stakeholders in the state to fulfill their obligations to the state government by paying all outstanding debts and remit it to kWASAA.

The DG also warned the staff of the agency against indolence and laziness, saying the agency would not condone any act of indiscipline from any staff.

He also advised them to do away with corruption and other related offences that is capable of tarnishing their image and that the agency.
He encouraged all staff to be more committed and dedicated to their duties, promising that the agency would recognize hard working and reward it
