Kwara United gaffer promises to relate more with SWAN


The Technical Adviser of Kwara United FC, Kabir Dogo has expressed willingness to work with Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Kwara State Chapter ahead of the 2024/25 Nigeria Professional Football League season.

Dogo made the revelation during a media parley with Kwara SWAN at the conference hall of Kwara Football Academy (KFA) on Monday.

The experienced gaffer said, “The importance of the media cannot be downplayed in sports. Since I came to Kwara United two seasons ago, I have enjoyed a smooth relationship with sports journalists in the state.

“From Nasarawa United FC to Sunshine Stars and now Kwara United FC, the media has played a huge role in my coaching career and I want to appreciate them.

“In the coming season, I am going to work closely with the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kwara State Chapter in ensuring the club activities in the field of play get the maximum attention. I know how the current leadership of Kwara SWAN led by Mallam Ayodeji Ismail were able to manage some situations for Kwara United.

“I am calling on the sports journalists in Kwara State to rally round the team in order to project the state club positively”.

In his remarks, the Chairman Kwara SWAN, Mallam Ayodeji Ismail said, “I want to assure you of maximum support from our members next season. You have ensured our great club remains in the NPFL and the ways we can use it in supporting the club is by projecting the image of the club.

“Kwara United FC is one of the biggest clubs in Nigeria and I believe this current management led by Kumbi Titiloye will get our 100% support”.

The Vice President North Central SWAN National, Mallam Olayinka Owolewa lauded Coach Kabiru Dogo for engaging members of the press.

Owolewa said, “I want to commend Coach Dogo for engaging sports journalists and giving us what we should expect next season. I believe this will be the beginning of greater things for both parties”.
