Kwara Poly Mass Communication Department Honors Past HODs in Historic Event


The Mass Communication Department of Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin honored its past Heads of Department (HODs) for their tireless efforts in shaping the department.

This “first of its kind” event aimed to recognize and celebrate the contributions of former HODs, motivating future generations to strive for excellence.

Mr. Fatiu Olohungbebe, the current HOD, urged students to work hard and make a positive impact in their future endeavors.

He also emphasized the importance of upholding ethical standards and seeking necessary training and certification for journalists and media practitioners.

The honorees, including Dr. Saadudeen AbdulRasheed Ajibola, Mr. Oderinde Yisa Oloruntoyin, and Mr. M.T. Lawal, expressed their gratitude and pride of being recognized.

Dr. AbdulRasheed dedicated his award to the staff and students who supported him during his tenure, while Mr. Lawal commended the organizers for the laudable event. Mr. Oloruntoyin saw the honor as a challenge to continue working towards the department’s progress.

The event featured a lecture on good civil service and public relations by retired Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Kwara Command, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, who was also an awardee.

Non-teaching staff who made significant contributions to the department were also recognized and awarded.

This historic event marked a significant milestone in the department’s history, celebrating excellence and inspiring future generations to strive for greatness.
