The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed a kidnap incident that occurred on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Eleyin village via Isanlu-Isin in Isin Local Government Area.
According to a press statement issued by SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer and obtained by Just Event Online TV, about five armed men blocked the highway at approximately 5:45 p.m., stopping two private vehicles and forcefully abducting all occupants to an unknown location.
Following a swift response, the police, in collaboration with the military and local vigilante groups, successfully rescued two of the victims identified as Ganiyu Ajayi and Kolawole Adeyemi. Efforts are ongoing to ensure the safe rescue of the remaining victims and to apprehend the kidnappers.
The Command disclosed that security measures have been intensified in the area, with aggressive bush combing, strategic patrols, and intelligence-led operations underway to prevent further incidents.
The police assured residents of their commitment to protecting lives and property across the state and urged the public to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative by providing credible information to security agencies.
