The Kwara State Peoples Democratic Party PDP on Tuesday Inaugurated new executive members that will pilot the affairs of the party.
The new executives include Mr. Olusegun Olusola Adewara State PRO, Women Leader Alhaja Abdulkadir Rahmat Segilola, Ag. Youth leader Mohammed Abdulmumeen, Mallam Abdullahi Kayode State secretary and deputy Chairman Alh Idris Mohammed.
While taking oath of office, the inaugurated excos promised to work diligently in line with the constitution of PDP law.
They equally promised to work towards the greatness of the party and ensure victory of the PDP.
The state chairman of the party, Hon. Babatunde Mohammed in his speech said the new excos were picked based on their antecedents and capacities, noting that they will perfume excellently and make sure he party and Kwarans proud.
“Our regime did not just pick youths but went for those suitable for a given task, assigned them those tasks based on their antecedents and capacities. We gave them the platforms to operate and contribute their ideas in their chosen sectors thereby paving ways for them to develop and introduce several innovative reforms which the state is enjoying to date”.
Speaking further, he said, more than N10b was left in state government coffers and inherited by the AbdulRazaq government in May 2019. This fund represented the FAAC and tax refund from the FG that was received by the state to meet her Statutory obligations but for political reasons and the continuation of bullying of our govt by the APC regime, the fund was illegally frozen by the then EFCC leadership and succesfully transfered to the incumbent. The fund which was targeted at offsetting salary arrears owed SUBEB teachers, some state agencies and institutions was surprisingly diverted by the APC administration while the salaries arrears that they used in running a dirty campaign against our govt remain unpaid till date.
“It is worrying that despite huge cash inflow to the state, Kwarans could not see anything in ground across the state that commiserate with the income and huge debt imposed on the state since 2019* – Kwara State PDP Chairman, Hon. Babatunde Mohammed at the inauguration ceremony of Kwara PDP newly ratified executive members”.
“Throughout the first 4 years of gov AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, he was able to construct less that 5 kilometers of road in the whole of Irepodun LG while gov AbdulFatai Ahmed in his first term in office constructed over 10km of road from Arandun linking Ipetu Rore to to Oke-Ero LGA”.
Hon. Babatunde noted that the PDP in Kwara remain strong and ever ready to work for the cause of the people of the state.
He called on governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq to account for 17b and other funds belonging to Kwarans.
He therefore urged the newly inaugurated executives and all party members to work towards the success of the party and Kwara State at large.
