The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kwara state has extended her warm greetings to all Christians and fellow Kwarans on the auspicious occasion of Easter celebration, commemorating the painful crucifixion, death, burial and eventual resurrection of Jesus Christ, signifying his highest sacrifice for the redemption of humanity.
The Party urged Christians and Kwarans to reflect on the priceless sacrifice and limitless love of God for mankind and live together in harmony.
In a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Olusegun Olusola Adewara (Sholyments) and obtained by Just Event Online TV on Sunday, the Party praised Christians all over the world, particularly those in Kwara for their dedication and commitment to a peaceful Kwara and urged them to intensify prayers for divine intervention to put the state back to its old prosperous ways.
“As we celebrate the joyful conclusion of the Lenten season of devoted prayer, fasting, and penitence and particularly the resurrection of Jesus Christ after his crucifixion, let us reflect upon His teachings and the profound impact of His messages. Jesus Christ’s life exemplifies love, compassion, and selfless sacrifices – values that transcend time and inspire us to be better individuals.
“We are mindful of the challenges our state is facing, including policy summersaults which tend to waste scarce resources and put our future in jeopardy. We are also not unaware of the demolition of the erosion control system built with huge Kwara money less than 2 years ago at the Adeta-Pakata area of Ilorin and other areas. The humongous amount being spent on demolition and reconstruction tells us how insensitive the government of Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is. We are also not unaware of the reckless spending of the Abdulrazaq administration, where N41.19 billion was spent on trips, refreshments, and other frivolous expenses at the expense of the suffering common man.
“However, we believe that by working together and rejecting those who seek to exploit our collective heritage, we can forge a brighter path going forward as a people.
“As we celebrate this Easter, let us remember that our strength lies in unity. Together, we can overcome challenges and build a Kwara that truly serves the interests of its people.
“The Kwara PDP wishes all Christians and Kwara people in general an Easter celebration filled with love, joy, and hope”, the Party stated.
