Kwara NSCDC personnel, Adanla unveils book, urges Govt to promote unarmed combat, self defence

The personnel of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Kwara command, Sensei Jimoh Abdulganeey Adanla, on Thursday launched a book titled ‘Glint on Unarmed Combat and Self Defence.’

In his remark, Kwara NSCDC Commandant Umar Muhammed, commended the author for his effort in impacting knowledge and urged him to maintain the tempo.

He said the book is timely as there is need for citizens to be security conscious and know how to prevent an attack in the first place.

The author who is also the Karate Assistant National coach of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps; Sensei Jimoh Abdulganeey Adanla said the book aimed to showcase the essence of self defence without weapon as the security situation of the country is degenerating.

He added that the book also serve as study material for unarmed combat officers and staff of the NSCDC

He urged the govt to promote unarmed combat in the country so that citizens can protect themselves against danger.

The book reviewer DSC Tiamiyu Olasunkanmi, said Self defence is a constitutionally guaranteed right for every Nigerian to use reasonable and necessary force for the defence of person and property, from unlawful violence.

He added that Self-defence is an important part of life and everyone should have some knowledge of it

He noted that training not only helps protect against danger, but also helps become physically and emotionally fit.

He said “having the ability to defend yourself increases your self-esteem and boosts your confidence, which the book is all about.”

The program also featured presentation of Award of excellence to various NSCDC personnel.

The event had the presence of Imam Gambari of Ilorin, Sheikh Suleiman Abdulazeez, Sheikh Muhyideen, NSCDC personnel, Author’s family and well-wishers among others.
