Kwara North Stakeholders Inspect N350bn Federal Road Project facilitated by Gov AbdulRazaq

 

Kwara North Stakeholders, led by the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Salihu Yakubu Danladi, conducted an inspection visit on Friday to the first phase of the 217-km Bode Saadu-Kaiama-Kosubosu Federal Road.

This major infrastructure project, worth over N350bn, is being facilitated by Kwara State and Chairman Nigeria Governors Forum, Mallam AbdulRazaq Abdulrahman CON

The project is under the management of The BUA Group, with the contractor actively handling its development.

During the visit, Rt Hon Salihu Yakubu Danladi spoke to newsmen, emphasizing the agricultural significance of the road for Kwara North.

He expressed optimism that the completion of the road would significantly boost the region’s agricultural outputs.

“We, Kwara Northerners and our traditional rulers, are extremely happy for this project. That’s why we troop out en masse to appreciate Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON for facilitating this huge project,” he added.

Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Nafisah Buge, highlighted the road’s role in opening up Kwara North, stating that recent statistics indicate the region can potentially feed 30% of Nigerians, as the region is blessed with farm produce and natural resources.

Former Deputy Kwara Speaker, Rt Hon Mathew Okedare, expressed gratitude for the road, anticipating that its completion would alleviate problems in the Northern part of Kwara

Member representing Kaiama constituency, Hon Baba said Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s visionary leadership was acknowledged, with the realization that the project’s roots date back to 2011 when he campaigned in Kaiama, pledging to address the road’s development.

TIC Chairman Moro LG, Abdulganiyu Alikinla, emphasized the positive impact of the road, noting that it would bring back those who had vacated their villages.

Hon Mariam Hassan praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s action-oriented leadership, expressing confidence that significant progress has been made.

Project Manager Engr Emmanuel shared details, stating that the construction would be completed in 36 months, having commenced in September 2023, using concrete materials.
