In continuation of selfless and undiluted passion for community service, the Hanok International Initiatives has trained students of public secondary school in Ilorin.
The non governmental organization today visited Government day Secondary School Oja-gboro in Ilorin East Local Government and Government day Secondary School Oke aluko in Ilorin South Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Some of skills the organization trained the students are, production of liquid soap, disinfectants amongst others.
The convener of the humanitarian organization, Mr. Nurudeen Okin said the program is centered to build a creative-minded society by developing entrepreneurial ability and discovering hidden potentials. While ensuring quality academic pursuit, and combating educational illiteracy.
He explained that white colour jobs were no longer available in the labour market, hence the need for youths in the state to acquire skills outside what they studied in their various fields of study while in school.
Reacting to the development, the vice principal (Special duty), Government day Secondary School , Oke Aluko, Mrs. Williams L.O, commended the Hanok Initiative for extending the exercise to the school, he seeks for God’s protection and blessing for the coordinator and the entire team.
Principal Government Secondary School, Oja Gboro Alhaji Kazeem Alabi Issa while responding to interview, said he’s delighted with the exercise, adding that if such initiatives continues in the society, it will reduce high rate of immoral act within teenagers.
Speaking with JUST EVENT ONLINE correspondent, Abubakar Robiat, a student from Government Secondary School Oja-Gboro expressed her positive gesture over the training, describing it as an unprecedented opportunity for every students in the school.
The exercise which started last year at Government Day Secondary School Odokun, followed by Sheikh Abdulkadir Secondary School Ilorin while it continue in the remaining selected schools across the LGs in the coming weeks.

Leaving no room for laziness, on or after school, and giving our teenagers a sense of responsibility and chance to contribute their own quota to the development of the community no matter how big or small.
