The Committee on Kwara State Merit Awards 2022, led by Hon. Commissioner for Communications, Mallam Saddiq Buhari, has said the Merit Awards is a symbolic acknowledgement which shows that the state appreciates the awardees’ contributions to the growth of the state and national development.
He stated this on Wednesday in a media parley held in Ilorin.
Buhari who said the award is of 25 categories, added that the nominee was nominated by different subcommittees based on criteria relevant to each.
He also noted that the online voting has begun to determine the winners for each category, and added that the voting will end by midnight on Thursday, December 22.
“The event which is the maiden edition under the current administration is strictly by invitation and scheduled to hold on Friday, December 23rd at the Atlantic Event Centre”.
” More and more of these great people will be formally recognised in the coming years for their huge impacts and footprints in the sand of time.”
“Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, there are 25 categories in this Maiden edition of the Kwara State Merit Award 2022. These include; the Lifetime Achievements Award; posthumous achievement award; Most Outstanding Kwara State Indigene in the World; Friends of the State: Most Outstanding Media House; Most Outstanding Online Media Personality; amongst others.”
