Kwara Lawmaker, Hon Olatundun Alanamu Honors 34 Students with Full Scholarship

 

Honorable Aishat Olatundun Alanamu, who represents the Ilorin North/West constituency at the Kwara State House of Assembly, has granted full scholarships to 34 outstanding students. These scholarships were awarded to the top three students in Primary 1 to Primary 6, the best three students in JSS 1 to SS 2, and one exceptional student in SSS 3.

The scholarships were announced during the closing ceremony of a free summer lesson organized by her constituency office, which took place at Ikhwanu School in Ilorin.

Honorable Alanamu emphasized the collective responsibility of government and the community in providing quality education for Nigerian citizens. She highlighted the limitations of government resources and called on corporate organizations, philanthropists, and individuals to contribute to the educational cause, including offering scholarships and infrastructure support.

The lawmaker also expressed her commitment as a political office holder to support government initiatives, emphasizing the importance of giving back to society and securing a better future for the younger generation.

Honorable Alanamu credited her motivation to sponsor this holiday program to the commendable efforts of the Kwara State Governor, His Excellency Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazag. She praised the governor’s significant strides in the education sector, including the revival of UBEC counterpart funding, extensive development of educational infrastructure, improved teacher welfare, teacher recruitment, and comprehensive teacher training.

Subair Kareem, speaking on behalf of the students, expressed gratitude to Honorable Tundun Alanamu for providing them with a platform to showcase their talents and promised to use the scholarships wisely, pledging to be exemplary ambassadors for their constituency.

The Head of the School commended Honorable Alanamu for her dedication to education and encouraged her to continue her efforts in the same vein
