The Kwara South Chapter of the Professional Hunters Association of Nigeria hosted the Conference of Kwara/South West States of Professional Hunters Association of Nigeria on Thursday at the Hunters Building, adjacent to the Irepodun Traditional Council Secretariat along the Ajase-Ipo/Igbaja/Oke-Ode road, Ajase Ipo.
Just Event Online TV reports, Senator Yisa Oyelola Ashiru, representing Kwara South Senatorial District, commended the professional hunters for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the district. Represented at the event, Senator Ashiru emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, noting, “Without peace, there can be no progress.” He further donated 100 pairs of jungle shoes to the hunters and pledged support for the construction of their Secretariat.
Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Ola Iya, represented by Officer Olorunfemi from the Anti-Kidnapping Squad, delivered a lecture urging hunters to collaborate with the police and other security agencies. He trained the hunters on operational best practices as security operatives, emphasizing the importance of synergy in combating crime.
The National President of the South West States of the Professional Hunters Association of Nigeria praised the efforts of the Kwara South hunters, led by Elder Oyin Olaitan Zubair.
He encouraged them to continue protecting the people of Kwara South and assured them of the association’s support.
Similarly, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ajase Ipo Division, Olaoye, sought enhanced cooperation between the hunters and law enforcement agencies, urging them to operate within the bounds of the law.
In his remarks, Chief Oyin Olaitan Zubair, Vice President of the South West Professional Hunters Association and Coordinator of the Kwara State Joint Security Initiative, expressed gratitude to Senator Ashiru for his ongoing support and called for further assistance
He highlighted the critical role of professional hunters in maintaining security in the region and reinforced the importance of collaboration with other security apparatus to ensure the safety and well-being of citizens.
He applauded the hunters for their resilience in combating banditry and kidnapping in Kwara South.
