Kwara Govt Trains 3000 Drivers on Safety Precautions

In a bid to reduce the rate of road accidents in the state, the Kwara State Government, through the Office of the Special Assistant to Governor on Transport Affairs and the International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), organized a training workshop for 3000 drivers on safety precautions while driving.

The training, held at the Kwara State Banquet Hall, Ilorin, brought together drivers from various transport unions and associations in the state.

Minister of Transportation, Sen. Saidu Alkali, ably represented by Dr. Mercy Ilori, emphasized the importance of road safety and professionalism in achieving Nigeria’s overall growth and development.

Hon. Orire Ibrahim Olanrewaju, Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport Affairs, emphasized the need for drivers to be safety-conscious while driving, stating that the government is committed to reducing road accidents.

In his address, IVTEC Director, Dr. Yaru Salihu, urged drivers to be vigilant, pay attention to their vehicle’s details, and avoid drinking while driving.

Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, represented by SA Special Duties, Alh. Abdulazeez Jiddah, commended the organizers and urged drivers to apply the knowledge gained to reduce road accidents.

This training done by the security operatives is part of Kwara State Government’s efforts to improve road safety and reduce accidents and ensuring the safety of all road users.
