As part of efforts towards boosting transport sector, Kwara State Government, in collaboration with SEAP Microfinance has commissioned 50 buses in the second phase of Community Transport Intervention Project which was benefitted by the members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW and the Road Transport Employer Association of Nigeria RTEAN.
The commissioning, which was done on Tuesday at the Kwara State government Secretariat, Off road, Ilorin, was done through the office of the Senior Special Assistant to governor on Community Intervention, Hon. Kayode Oyin Zubair.
Gov AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq, who was represented by Commissioner for Works and Transportation, Engr. Rotimi Illiasu, commended the office of SSA on Community Intervention led by Oyin Zubair. He enjoined the beneficiaries to maintain safety, as he urged them to use the buses meaningfully.

“The first phase of the project was launched on 2021 when 100 Tricycles was given to the transporters to ease the movement of commuters in the state.
He appreciated the SEAP International for partnering with government to empowered the people of the State”.
Deputy Gov of the State, Mr. Kayode Alabi, ably represented by Commissioner of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Arc. Saifudeen Aliyu urged the beneficiaries to take the opportunity very sincerely and use the bus given to them judiciously.

Kayode Oyin Zubair commended the State governor for bringing succor to transportation sector in the State. He commended SEAP and also wished the beneficiaries success.
CEO, SEAP International, Pastor Babatunde Oladokun at the commissioning ceremony noted that the government is contributing meaningfully towards development of the State. He urged the beneficiaries to stick to the agreement made for others benefit.
Delivering his speech, Chairman of RTEAN, Alh. AbdulRaman Olayinka Onikijipa noted that the union occupied a strategic position in the workforce and development of the country. He added that it is important for all levels of government to make deliberate investment in the sector. He commended the effort of Gov AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq in his efforts in transportation sector.
The union is impressed with
your unparalleled commitment to the provision of social amenities across thelength and breadth of the State, he said.
“More than ever I am excited today as our members are supported with 25 units
of mini bus to ply various roads in Kwara State. As you continue to partner with us on developmental issues you are assured of our unalloyed supports and make sure that all the beneficiaries make their payment as at when due.
On behalf of the members, he promised to judiciously use the 25 buses given to them towards bringing the dividends of his administration.
Speaking further, he commended SA to the Governor on Community
Interventions, Kayode Oyin Zubair for his kind gesture.
On his part, chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers NURTW, Alh. AbdulRazaq Ariwoola, commended the responsive
government of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq in partnering with the organization in order to bring succor to transportation in the State.
The both chairman of NURTW and RTEAN stated that their members were not forced into collecting the vehicle, as they give testimonies and commend the government’s efforts on transport sector
