The Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr. Kayode Alabi, has instructed the Chairmen of the Local Government Transition Implementation Committees (TIC) in the state to sponsor indigenes of their respective local governments for pilot and flight dispatchers’ courses at the International Aviation College in Ilorin. This directive was given during a meeting held between the management of the college and the TIC Chairmen.
The Deputy Governor encouraged the TIC Chairmen to take advantage of the presence of the Aviation College in the state by supporting their local indigenes in pursuing aviation courses offered by the college. He specifically advised those local governments that cannot afford the fees for the standard pilot course to at least sponsor three indigenes for the flight dispatchers’ course, which is also a lucrative aviation-related course.
To ensure the implementation of this plan, the Deputy Governor instructed the college’s Business Development Unit to collaborate with the Chairman of Kwara State ALGON (Association of Local Governments of Nigeria) and TIC Chairman of Irepodun Local Government. This collaboration aims to facilitate the realization of the plan without any delay.
The members of the college team present at the meeting were Captain Yakubu Okatahi (Acting Rector), Mohammed Jimada Jibril (Registrar), Sanni Shamsudeen (Bursar), Kehinde Adetutu Ajayi (Business Development Officer), Babatunde B. Magagi (Flight Operations Officer Coordinator), and Yetunde Humukhair (Librarian).
