Kwara Commissioner for Works, Engr Rotimi Iliasu flags off one week AutoCAD training for 100 Kwara Youths

In a bid to contribute to human capital development and prepare Youth for future, Kwara State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu, in collaboration with Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE), on Monday flagged off 1- week 3D Cad Training and Development of Design Concept for 100 Kwara Youths .

Speaking at the flag off, President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) ably represented by Vice President of NSE; Engr. Joseph Sunday Adebayo, FNSE, FNIEEE, FNISET, congratulated the participants for making it to the noble training, he also enjoined them to make use of the knowledge and teach others too.

“I want to congratulate you participants for making it to this noble training without mincing words I believed this will add to your knowledge, I also want to enjoin you to make use of it and teach others too.”

On her part, National Chairman of NIMechE, Engr. Dr Mrs Olufunmilade Akingbagbohun, FNSE, FNIMechE ably represented by Chairman NIMechE Ilorin Chapter, Engr. Dr S.A. Yahaya, MNSE, MNIMechE, said “We are very proud of Engr Rotimi Iliasu for calling on the scholars who were trained both home and abroad to transfer their knowledge to the young Kwarans and we are very sure that by the year 2030 Kwara state will be the hub of technological design in Nigeria.”

Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr Rotimi has distinguished himself among his peers that he’s a good ambassador of Better by Far University (UNILORIN) and a proud member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, I urge him to continue with this tempo, she said.

The chairman Chairman Nigerian Society of Engineers Ilorin Branch, Engr Taiwo Issa Olashehu FNSE FNIMechE said “What Engr Rotimi doing is unprecedented in the state and also a challenge to Youths of Kwara and beyond, because only God knows who will be there at another high-ranking authority tomorrow, I commend him for this laudable program.”

He also adviced the participants to see beyond the training as Kwara Youths need to do more by ensuring the state becomes the hub for technological design.

On his part Kwara Commissioner for Works & Transport, Engr Suleiman Rotimi Iliasu FNSE, FNIMechE, said there were over 500 applicants but after many screenings 100 Youths are picked for the training.

This shows we have Kwarans who are not sitting down, we have Kwarans who are ready to learn new things, I’m overwhelmed , he said.

He noted that the 100 Youths are pick across the 16 local government area of Kwara state.

The Commissioner however commended Gov AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for creating a level playing ground thereby providing an avenue for youth empowerment and enrichment in the state.
