The Kwara State Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Alabi Afeez Abolore, has dedicated an award of honor presented to him to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON). Dr. Abolore praised the governor as a visionary and progressive leader driving the state’s governance with impactful policies and sustainable development initiatives.

This acknowledgment came on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, during the maiden edition of the lecture series organized by the Department of Estate Management at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso. Dr. Abolore was invited as a guest lecturer to speak on the theme: “Estate Management Between Academics and Practitioners: The Catalyst for Sustainable Development” and the sub-theme: “Estate Surveyor and Valuer: The Indispensable Professional in National Sustainable Development.”
In his address, Dr. Abolore shared his journey and humble beginnings, encouraging the students to uphold the ethics and professionalism of their chosen careers. He urged them to embrace hard work, determination, and honesty to excel as estate surveyors and valuers who will contribute significantly to national sustainable development.
Dr. Abolore also emphasized the importance of professionalism and adherence to rudimentary procedures in estate management practices, underlining the indispensable role of estate surveyors and valuers in the nation’s development.
The event witnessed the participation of distinguished dignitaries, including the Vice Chancellor of LAUTECH, represented by the Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies, Prof. O.O. Ogunleye; the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Prof. M.A. Areo; the Head of the Department of Estate Management, Dr. M.A. Asani; Prof. B.T. Aluko, and other university faculty members and staff.
The lecture series marked a significant milestone in fostering collaboration between academia and practitioners in estate management, highlighting the sector’s potential for driving sustainable development in Nigeria.
