The immediate past ward chairmen of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ilorin West Local Goverment Area of Kwara State, under the aegis of Association Former PDP Ward Chairmen, have endorsed the former national chairman of the party and Tafida of Ilorin, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, CON for the Kwara Central Senatorial seat in the forthcoming general elections in 2023.
The group in a unanimous decision, wrote a letter to the National Leader of the party, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, CON, during their meeting on Monday in Ilorin, conveying their endorsement on Baraje to join the race of Kwara Central Senatorial ticket, amidst the rumours making round that the senatorial ticket has been ceded to the Magaji Ngeri constituency of the local government.
The group expressed, therein the letter that, the Kwara Central Senatorial District in 2023 needs a perfect and loyal party man who was there for the party at all times like Alhaji Kawu Baraje, CON. They went further that the records of how he carried the party at home front along, during his reign as the acting national chairman of the party, speak for him today.
The group further described Baraje as a philanthropist, whose impacts are felt by all and sundry, as the best at this crucial time when the senatorial district is in need of better representation at the red chamber.
Members of the association who were in attendance for the endorsement and appended their signature to that effect are: Alhaji Ahmed Arije (Chairman) from Oje-Ekun/Zarumi ward, Hon. Yunusa Garba (Secretary) from Badari ward, Alhaji Ganiyu Eleran Akanbi from Adewole, Alhaji Abu from Oloje ward, Alhaji Oseni Magaji from Oko-Erin, Alhaji Kayode Yakubu from Baboko Ward, Alhaji Yusuf Gidado from Ajikobi and Alhaji Abdullahi Amosa Olonde from Alanamu.
