Political stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ipetu/Rore/Aran-Orin Ward, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, have appealed to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to call his Special Assistant on New Media, Mr. Olayinka Michael Fafoluyi (popularly known as Solace), to order over alleged divisive conduct and interference in party affairs.
In a press conference with newsmen on Wednesday by ward stakeholders, the group expressed deep appreciation to the Governor for his “unprecedented developmental strides and inclusive leadership,” especially highlighting the reconstruction of the Oro–Arandun Road and other sectoral projects in education, health, and agriculture.
They commended the Governor for his fairness and inclusiveness, noting that several indigenes of the ward currently hold strategic appointments in his administration — a gesture they described as “the most politically rewarding era in our history.”
JUST EVENT ONLINE TV reports, However, the stakeholders said they were “deeply concerned” about the recent activities of Mr. Fafoluyi, accusing him of acting in ways that “threaten the peace, stability, and unity of the ward.”
According to them, Fafoluyi has been “invoking the Governor’s name to justify divisive actions, issuing threats to party leaders, and attempting to manipulate ward congress processes to install his loyalists.”
“We have it on good authority that he has been coercing the APC Chairperson of Irepodun Local Government, Mrs. Rasheedat Kazeem, to bow to his personal wishes. This reckless behavior could create unnecessary internal crisis and tarnish the reputation of the Governor’s peace-driven administration,” the statement alleged.
The stakeholders further claimed that Mr. Fafoluyi had no political roots in the ward until recently and accused him of disrespecting traditional rulers and obstructing new party entrants.
“He even attempted to divert agricultural inputs meant for farmers in our ward earlier this year, but was stopped by concerned youths and stakeholders,” they added.
Reaffirming their loyalty to Governor AbdulRazaq and the APC, the group stressed that Fafoluyi’s conduct “does not reflect the Governor’s leadership style of discipline, fairness, and inclusiveness.”
“We, the political stakeholders of Ipetu/Rore/Aran-Orin Ward, humbly appeal to Your Excellency to call Mr. Fafoluyi to order. His continued interference in ward matters and repeated use of your name to justify divisive actions are capable of undermining party unity,” the statement read.
Shortly after the press conference, the stakeholders in their numbers protested to Paace of Alaran of Aran-Orin to officially lodge their complaints to the monarch
