A member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kwara State has filed a direct criminal complaint against a social media user, Adamu Sheu, popularly known as Vascor, over alleged defamation of character.
According to court summons obtained by NupekoTv Media, Sheu has been ordered to appear in court on September 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
Just Event Online TV reports that the complaint was lodged by a member of the “NUPEKO TV Community,” a WhatsApp platform with over 1,000 members dedicated to issues affecting the Nupe people. The plaintiff alleged that on September 16, 2025, Sheu made a series of defamatory posts against him.
Specifically, the plaintiff claimed that Sheu accused him of “exploiting many APC members” and “begging for money” from them.
He, however, maintained that he belongs to the ADC coalition, not the APC, stressing that the allegations were false, malicious, and aimed at tarnishing his reputation and undermining his political future.
Despite warnings, Sheu allegedly continued the attacks, boasting that he had “receipts of all money collected from people” and threatening to publish them. The plaintiff noted that no such evidence was ever produced.
The case is being pursued under Section 264 of the Penal Code Law, which addresses defamation of character.
In his petition, the plaintiff urged the court to “rescue me and clear my name and reputation,” calling for Sheu’s punishment to serve as a deterrent to others.
