Kwara North Stakeholders Consultative Forum on Thursday, organized a press conference in their advocacy for governorship position in the 2023 Kwara Gubernatorial election
The press conference held at MM event center, Ilorin featured the stakeholders from Kwara North, political leaders, youths, women, artisans and governorship aspirants across political parties
The Chairman, KNSC Comrade Abdullahi Aliyu Lade, while addressing the newsmen said, Kwara North Stakeholders Consultative Forum is represented by good people of Baruteen, Edu, Kaiama, Moro and Pategi.
He added that, they engaged five local government area of the senatorial district in consultations with critical stakeholders across kwara state on the need for Kwara North to produce the next governorship aspirant in the 2023 election.
According to him, the consultation is based on the need for unity, equity and justice as tools for sustainable growth and development.
He posited that just like every other zones, kwara north has enjoyed the benefits of the existential fruits of unity, trust and mutual respect among the zones.
He maintained that the good foundation their forbearers laid was what made it possible for them to solidly support political candidates from the other political zones to emerged governor of the state since 1999
“Our votes counted when it was needed for Dr. Bukola Saraki and we ensured he got it for two terms. Also, our votes counted for Gov AbdulFatai Ahmed from kwara south for two terms”
Comrade Lade said the Kwara Northerners seeks to produce the next governor based on competence, awareness of the next phase of development of the state.
He however made a clarion call to the people the state to support Kwara Northerners advocacy in producing the next competent governor, who will be government friendly.
“This is the time to do it, the time to actualise our dreams, the time to support kwara north, and the time for all three zones to support kwara northerner as Governor of Kwara State come 2023.
All the political aspirants present at the conference agreed on supporting who ever emerges as the candidate from the district.
