The Abibakr Al-Sidiq Philatropic Home of King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Centre Saudi-Arabia, said thousands of Muslims and non-muslims have benefitted from its poverty alleviation program this year featuring Eta’am Food Baskets distributions to the less-privileged people in Nigeria
This was disclosed by the President of the Philanthropic Home Sheikh Abdul-Razaq Ibrahim Salman while reviewing the success of the activities of the Humanitarian Relief Organisation at the end of this year’s distribution in various cities and communities in Nigeria.
According to the Scholar, the distribution which was part of King Salman’s annual numerous relief packages around the world features beneficiaries in 19 Countries across the world. Sheikh Abdul-Razaq Ibrahim Salman commended the Supervisor-General of KSrelief Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeha for spearheading the poverty relief Initiative which saw the distribution of 8000 tons of food items around 19 Countries and commended the support given by Saudi Foreign Missions for the distribution exercises that took place in Abuja and Kano State.
Reports from Kwara State indicated that the project started on the 5th of April, 2022 with the official flag-off ceremony conducted by the Deputy Governor of Kwara State Mr. Kayode Alabi on behalf of the State Executive Governor Mal. Abdul-Rahman Abdul-Razaq. The ceremony which was well- attended by dignitaries from the State had the State Grand Kadi – Hon. Justice Abdul-Lateef Kamaludeen and the Representative of Elerin of Erin-Ile were in attendance. Others present were the Vice-President Special Duties of Abibakr As-sidiq Philanthropic Home Hajia Fatima Yunus Gada and the Vice-President Head Office Abibakr Al-Sidik Philanthropic Home Hajia Bilquis Garba Shiru together with other Government Functionaries.
Over 300 food baskets were distributed on that day with each basket capable of feeding 6 people – that means about 1800 people benefitted.
The Kwara State distribution exercise continued with visits and distribution to local communities within the State capital and Local Government Areas in Kwara State.
The distribution of the Organization went as far as Ijara-Isin in Isin Local Government of Kwara State where 800 people benefitted. The King of Ijara-Isin His Royal Highness Oba Ajibola Ademola Julius thanked the Organization for the kind gesture but solicited the support of King Salman Humanitarian Relief Aid & Relief Centre and Abibakr As-Sidik Philanthropic Home to help the Community by bringing development into the Area including the establishment of educational institutions.
Other big communities that benefitted include Erin-Ile, Share, Sakama, Igbotele, Omu-Aran, Sulu, and Ipetu-Igbomina in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State. During the visit of the Organization’s officials to the King of Erin-Ile in Oyun Local Government Oba Ibrahim Olusokun II, His Royal Highness requested bigger support next year not only in the area of food but the provision of drinking water, empowerment for the youth, and widows.
At the end of the distribution exercise which lasted two weeks in Kwara State alone, over 4,600 beneficiaries got the food packages. It was a great relief to them as they were facing food shortages because feeding is becoming a problem in Nigeria due to insecurity and economic problems facing Nigeria.
Expressing the appreciation of the benefitting Nigerians for the kind gestures, the President of Abibakri Al-Sidiq Philanthropic Home thanked His Majesty King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud of Saudi Arabia for championing the cause of welfare for the vulnerable in Nigeria and West Africa in particular and the whole world.
The welfare packages of the Organization would remain ‘a talk of the town’ for several years to come.
