Elders and Stakeholders from Alanamu ward of the All Progressives Congress in Kwara State at the weekend distributed palliatives to party members across its twenty four zones to cushion the effect of hardship in the country.
Just Event Online TV reports, Items distributed includes, twenty four bags of rice, ten bags of 1KG Semovita and a carton of Spaghetti which was shared to each of the zones, while two hundred members of the party also received twenty thousand Naira money palliative.
Speaking to journalists at the event, State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Mustapha Salman Ishowo, said each zone of the ward was given a bag of rice, ten bags of 1KG semovita, one carton of spaghetti and twenty thousand Naira to four beneficiaries from each ward.
This initiative, he said, was aimed to assist vulnerable and indigents members especially during this hardship and Ramadan period for them to have a joyous Eid-el-fitri celebration.
The APC scribe also added that the occasion witnessed decamping of some loyalists of an individual in the Alanamu ward who established a parallel executive in the ward, saying that his loyalists had abandoned him to join the camp of the present party‘s recognised executive under the leadership Alhaji Abubakar Babatunde Tukur.
Earlier, the Alanamu Ward Chairman of the Party, Alhaji Abubakar Babatunde Tukur , said the elders and stakeholders of the ward came together and contributed the items distributed as palliative to assist members of the party at the ward level.
Alhaji Babatunde Tukur noted that the items distributed would go along way to assist the beneficiaries in alleviating their sufferings.
Also speaking, a stakeholder of the Party, Alhaji Kayode Adams, said the money palliative of twenty thousand Naira each he distributed to two hundred beneficiaries was aimed to complement the efforts of Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRasaq led administration.
While noting that the money was a replica of the “ Owo Isowo and “ Owo Mekunu” the state government initiated to assist the vulnerable, Alhaji Adams, added that the state governor expected stakeholders benefiting directly from the government and top government officials to also give back to their respective society.
The Chairman Ajikobi Ward of APC, Alhaji Dauda Ibrahim, commended the initiative of the Elders and stakeholders of Alanamu ward, assuring that such initiative would be reciprocated in his Ajikobi ward for their members to have sense of belongings.
