The House of Representatives ad hoc committee probing allegations of employment racketeering at the Federal Character Commission has ordered the arrest of the prime suspect, Haruna Kolo, a former desk officer at the FCC.
Chairman of the committee, Yusuf Gagdi, ordered the warrant of his arrest on Thursday following Kolo’s failure to appear before the committee in continuation of the hearing.
Kola had told the committee on Monday that he used his personal bank account to collect monies from job applicants and withdrew the same for Dankaka in cash. The committee thereafter asked him to return in continuation of the investigation; an invitation Kolo has failed to honour.
Speaking on the non-appearance of Kolo, the Chairman of the committee directed the clerk to commence the process of an arrest warrant.
Following his failure to appear on Thursday, Gagdi who represents Pankshin/Panam/Kanke Federal Constituency of Plateau State, urged relevant security agencies to pick up Kolo and bring him before the committee on Monday.
The committee thereafter adjourned the investigation till Monday.
