The Jamiyyat Nimatul-llahi-L-Islamiyyah Society of Nigeria, Ataragba, on Sunday celebrated the 23rd Maolid Nabiyy, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
The event, held at Aiyelabegan Compound, Ilorin, featured a guest lecture that emphasized the importance of loving and celebrating the Prophet, as taught by Islam.
The lecturer Khalifa Abdulkadir Olarewaju Ataragba highlighted the significance of Maolid Nabiyy, encouraging Muslims to reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and exemplary life.
The celebration also included a turbaning ceremony and award presentation, which recognized individuals who have made significant contributions to the society.
The event was attended by the IEDPU President, Alh. AbdulMalik Abdulmumin, Ilufemiloye of Atiran, HRM Oba Engr. Issa Aremu Olaleye, Alagbeku of Agbeku, HRM. Oba Abdulazeez Agboola; Alh. Aishat Olalere, Alh. Afusat Abdullahi, members of the Muslim community, among others.
