A tragic accident on the Oyo-Ogbomoso Road in Oyo State has claimed the lives of several students who were on their way to sit for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
According to reports, the accident occurred on Friday and involved a commercial vehicle transporting the candidates to a JAMB centre in Ogbomoso.
Eyewitness accounts revealed that the crash was caused by a brake failure, leading to the fatal incident. “Fatal accident claimed the life of the students that were going to write JAMB in Ogbomoso on Oyo road, Oyo State,” the video was captioned.
As of the time of filing this report, the Oyo State Police Public Relations Officer has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
