ITPA Flags Off Free Computer Training for the Security Operatives in Kwara

The Information Technology Professionals Association ITPA in affiliation with Kwara State Computer Professionals Association on Tuesday, Flagged Off Phase one of free computer training for Security Personnel in the State

The free training encompasses the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC and Kwara State Road Traffic Management Authority, KWARTMA officers

The President of ITPA, Opakunle Ridwan Ayinde said the non-governmental association is a national body of all IT professionals in the State.

He maintained that the organization comprises programmers, graphic artists, computer engineers, and others, adding that the association has a population of more than 10,000 members across all the 16 Local Govt Areas of the State. He added that their tentacles were spread widely across schools, orphanage homes, others for free

Opakunle stated that the aim for the training was to impact security policies which will help the security personnel discharge their duties technologically effective, saying the training will focus on Database Development and Management (Data Processing), Networking and System Security Policies

Stating the objectives of the association, BOT Chairman, Ogunjobi ID card, High Chief Obaisa Ayodele posited that the aim of the training is to sell out technology ideas to the public in order to be well equipped technologically

Taiwo zone Chairman of the organization, who is also known as the chairman of all chairmen, Engr. Tunde Ojo at the flag-off of the training said the program is scheduled to hold for three weeks. He maintained that the training is to create more awareness on the Importance of ICT in society. He maintained that subsequent phases will capture other security operatives like police, customs, and others

Also, the representative of the trainee within Kwara, Mrs. Olubukayo posited that the importance of security agencies in the State is immense, saying there will be maximum security if their operations are effectively discharged without any forms of hindrances.

NSCDC officer, Ayinla Segun Emmanuel, while responding to interview from the journalists said the world is in digital era. He posited that the security personnel needed to be technologically equipped, added that it will be an advantage to the security operatives and the society at large

Also the HOD in charge of ON/OFF street parking, KWARTMA, Basheer Lawal commended the organizers of the training, saying the project is a big and laudable one. Added that it will form the synergy between all security agencies, also will be beneficial in carrying out their duties.

He urged other associations to impact positively on people for more development in the society
