..TRCN boss counsels graduates on best practice
The Imam Hamzat College of Education Ilorin has on Friday hold its first professional induction ceremony for the 2021 graduants of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN)
The TRCN registrar, Professor Josiah Olusegun Ajiboye, counselled the graduates of college of education to inculcate best teaching practices.
Speaking at the induction ceremony of the NCE graduates, Josiah ably represented by Kwara TRCN boss, Mr Otun Akeem Olamide, said there is no doubt that the quality of education in any society depends largely on the quality teachers which in turn, depends on the regulation and control of the profession.
He also noted that quality education can it be guaranteed by professional teacher whose delivery, coordination and general management of the classroom activities leads to qualitative transformtion of the pupils.
He urged the inductees to take the oath of practice with all seriousness it deserved.
“For the new teachers about to take the Oath of practice, I urge you to take this exercise with all seriousness it deserves. Oath taking is the most important legal basis for admission into a profession and a condition for professional practice. Please, note, that any breach of the law particularly on Oath, calls for sanction”.
The oath administration symbolizes induction of all new teachers into the profession. By the vent of today all inductees Shall be accepted into the teaching profession, he said.
The Provost, Imam Hamzat College of Education, Dr Salami Adewole Adeyanju also charged the inductees not to demean the profession for whatever reason.

According to him, the TRCN strategies was aimed at repositioning the teaching profession in the country, he urged them to be truthful while dispensing their services.
Earlier, the guest speakers of the event, Professor Oladimeji Lateef, and Dr Akinnubi Paul posited that conversations around education in the country without teachers’ education was incomplete because of the position they occupied in national development.
