A cab driver, Moshood Ayinde who is a resident of Ilorin, capital of Kwara State has been showered with cash gifts rolled for his act of generosity of returning a lost phone to the owner.
Moshood was given a sum of One Hundred Thousand, N100, 000 by the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, led by Alhaji Ariwoola; the owner of the lost mobile phone, Mrs Khadijat Eyitanwa Lawal; a Kwara born OAP, who is also the head of media and publicity Gobir Organization Foundation.
Recalling how he came by the mobile phone, Moshood is a cab driver popularly called taxi in Ilorin, “It happened on Wednesday October 29, 2021 when Mrs Eyitanwa board his cab from Agbo-oba to Irewolede and she alighted, Moshood saw the phone in his cab.
Moshood, who popularly known the generous act, said ” it was my conscience that made me to pick her call when she called the line.
“I returned the phone, because I asked myself what would be my gain keeping another person’s phone and subjecting her to pain. If I sold the phone, I would eventually spend the money and if I decided to keep it and convert it to my personal use, it would eventually get spoilt one day.”
The Chairman, commended him for abiding to the association’s regular orientation given to its members.
Mrs Eyitanwa, in a phone conservation with JUST EVENT ONLINE NEWS, said Poverty is not an excuse for corruption. Mr Moshood’s action has shown us that you can have good values that are so set and cannot be compromised. He has restored hope in our country”,she said.
