The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Sulu Gambari CFR has said that the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria MSSN is one of the oldest Islamic societies in history of da’awah activities in Nigeria.
He said this on Wednesday at the Flag Off of the Hosting Father’s/Elders and Mentors of the MSSN for the forthcoming 79th National Islamic Vacation Course, held at the Emirs Palace, Ilorin.
The Emir noted that , among the major programmes of MSSN is the National Islamic Vacation Course, which is aimed at training and inculcating Islamic values in Muslim students.
“MSSN has been providing a platform for the training of youths to have the correct understanding of Islam and its applications Vis a Vis variety of programs. One of which is the almighty National Islamic Vacation Course (IVC)”.
IVC is a week-long programme which is usually comes in the month of December of every years. It attracts students from primary up to University levels.
The Emir noted that the program is aim at improving the Muslims skill acquisition, create interaction between Muslim youths and provide platforms in which they will have access to participate in Da’wah activities and receive classroom instructions from different Muslim scholars all over the country.
He appreciated everyone present at the inauguration, and prayed for the success of the forthcoming program.
On behalf of the Emir of Ilorin, Emir of Shonga, HRH Dr. Haliru Yahaya, who inaugurated the committee, urged them to put in their best to ensure the success of the program.

Chairman of the occasion, former Grand Khadi of Ilorin; Justice Idris Haroon, applauded the MSSN for bringing the program to Ilorin, Kwara state capital. He ascertained that MSSN is one of the most formidable, impactful, and active group among Muslim youths.
The role individuals play in a society is very important and whatever we do today will surely become history, he said.
He therefore appreciated the Emir for the confidence imposed in him, prayed to Allah to continue to guide and protect the Emir, as well as the group.
On his part, Grand Patron of MSS Ilorin, Prof. Yusuf Badmus, noted that the program is first of it’s kind to be staged in the whole of North central Nigeria in recent year.
He hinted that the total number of expected participants for this year course is Four thousand plus, with a budget of #55,179,000, to ensure the successful hosting of the forthcoming Islamic course.
Prof. Yusuf noted that the course is scheduled to hold between 22nd – 28th of December, 2022, at two different locations within Ilorin Metropolis.
He presented MSSN as the youth vanguard, with a line up programmes, that is soul inspiring, and needs to be empowered now and beyond, inorder to combat social menace that is bedeviling the society.
He also commended the Emir for his supports, and appreciated the presence of everyone at the wonderful gathering.
