Igosun in Council, IDPU congratulates Emir on 83rd birthday, celebrate Eid Fitr with Muslim Ummah


Onigosun of Igosun in Council and Igosun Descendants Progressive Union, IDPU have felicitated with the Emir of Ilorin Alhaji ( Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu- Gambari, CFR, on his Eighty third birthday.

A statement signed and made available to newsmen in Ilorin by the President of Igosun descendants progressive Union Chief (Barr.) R. O Balogun, describes the monarch as a symbol of peace and unity in Nigeria, who has contributed immensely to the development of Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State and Nigeria as a whole.

Chief R. O Balogun emphasized that the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman of traditional council and Obas in the state is a jurist per excellence, and his contribution to the judicial system in Nigeria can never be over emphasized.

The President of Igosun Descendants Progressive Union, who is also the Otun- Bamofin of Agbamu land, added that the reign of the eleventh Emir of Ilorin has attracted series of development for the people of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State in general.

Chief Balogun, on behalf of all good people of Igosun home and abroad, prayed Allah to grant His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin long life in good health and peaceful reign.

On the occasion of Eid Fitr celebration, the President of Igosun Descendant Progressive Union and one time legal adviser of the Nigeria Bar Association, (NBA) enjoined the Muslim Ummah to adhere to lessons learnt in the holy month of Ramadan which has increased them in no small measure in piety and good character.

He implored all people of Kwara State to live harmoniously and play their quota in support of government’s efforts towards the progress and development of the State.

Chief R. O Balogun, therefore, prayed the Almighty to bless Igosun community, Oyun local government, Kwara State and Nigeria as whole with abundant grace and development.

Meanwhile, Chief Rafiu Balogun, who has been elected as the General Secretary of Ibolo Peace Partly, an umbrella body for people in all towns and villages in Oyun and Offa Local Government Areas of Kwara State, prayed that peace will reign supreme in Ibolo Land, Kwara State and Nigeria at large.
