Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has reiterated his commitment at ensuring that the police force under his leadership is professionally competent, rule of law-compliant and people-friendly.
He also emphasised his endorsement for community policing, safer schools initiatives and partnerships with traditional institutions to enhance safety and security of Nigerians.
Egbetokun gave the assurances during his working visit to Kanu State at the weekend, where he had crucial engagements aimed at fortifying community policing efforts, promoting safe schools, enhancing discipline, and fostering a safer society.
A statement yesterday in Abuja by Force Headquarters spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi, an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), said during the tour, the police boss visited Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf, the palace of the Emir of Kano and had meetings with key stakeholders
During the tour, the IGP had the privilege to meet with His Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the Emir of Kano; and other esteemed members of the Emirate Council, including Alhaji Babba Dan-Agundi, members of the PCRC, and key stakeholders who are crucial to effective policing of Kano State and its environs.
