In a move aimed at solidifying the party at the local level, Ifelodun chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected Arch. Lukman Abubakar as new chairman.
The election, held during an emergency meeting of party stakeholders in Ilorin, saw Abubakar emerged unopposed after the other two contenders, Mr. Abdulganiyu Olarewaju and Hon. Awayewasere Abdulllahi, withdrew their interest shortly before the vote.
With only Abubakar remaining in the race, 24 out of 47 party executives present at the meeting casted their votes in his favor, solidifying his position as the new leader of the Ifelodun APC. This decisive victory underscores the confidence and support Abubakar enjoys within the party.
Abubakar’s ascension to the chairmanship promised a new chapter for the Ifelodun APC. His architectural background and experience in party politics are seen as valuable assets that will contribute to the party’s growth and development at the local level.
