Again, it was a great moment, today, Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Ile Ife, the source, where dignitaries, from across all works of life, gathered in honour of the 11th Vice-Chancellor of University of Ilorin, Prof.Wahab Olasupo EGBEWOLE, SAN for a special reception and prayer session.
The prayer session led by the Chief Imam of Ile Ife, Alhaji Abdul-semiu Abdul-Hammid has in attendance league of Imams and entire members of Muslim Community, Ile Ife. In his admonition, the Chief Imam, appreciating Allah for such an uncommon favour, charged Egbewole to continue in services to Allah and humanity. In his own remarks, the Aare Musulumi of Ife-land, Alhaji Ibikunle Lawal expressed his joy for such a time in the history of the Ife Community. He extols Egbewole virtues of simplicity and humility which stand him out amongst equals. Aare Ibikunle remarked that Egbewole is the brain behind the Ife Development Board; wrote the constitutions of the Ife Muslim Community, Ife Trust Fund as well as that of Ibikunle Lawal Educational Foundation.
In his goodwill message, Alhaji Aliyu Badmus, the proprietor of IQRA College, Ilorin said Egbewole remains the motivating factor for the Youngs and a pride of the Muslim Community beyond Ile Ife.
Some of the dignitaries, to mention but a few, at the occasion include Prof Muib-deen Opeloyeru (former Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, Osun State), Prof. Abdullattef Usman (Fmr VC, Fountain University), Profs.S. Salami and R.G. Jimoh – Former Dean of the Faculty Veterinary Medicine and CIS, respectively. Alhaji Saka Adesiyan (Fmr NUT Chairman, Osun State), Alhaja Sherifat Jimoh, and, the Obakin Ala of Ife land, Alhaji Zakariyau Akinyele.
