The Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), under the esteemed leadership of the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has congratulated Sanusi Akanbi Kazeem, a 400-level student of the Department of Mathematics, University of Ilorin, for his extraordinary 31-hour, 42-minute, and 54-second mathematics lesson — a feat currently under review by the Guinness World Records.
In a press statement signed by the National President of IEYDA, Alhaji Muhammad Uthman Jagunmo, and made available to Just Event Online TV on Monday evening by the Association’s National Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Abdullahi Abdulfatahi Oloyin, IEYDA described the achievement as a landmark academic accomplishment that has placed Kazeem on the global map as a symbol of excellence, perseverance, and intellectual tenacity.
Jagunmo extended heartfelt commendations to Kazeem’s parents, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole SAN, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Baba Alafara, his Head of Department, and his Level Adviser for their support and mentorship which contributed to the success of this feat.
“IEYDA joins the entire University of Ilorin community, His Royal Highness the Emir of Ilorin, Governor Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the good people of Kwara State in celebrating this remarkable son of the Ilorin Emirate,” the statement read.
According to Jagunmo, “Kazeem’s boldness, discipline, and resilience in undertaking such a rare and intellectually demanding challenge are commendable. His achievement is not only a personal triumph but also a source of pride for his family, mentors, and the entire Ilorin Emirate.”
He further stated that Sanusi Kazeem’s record-breaking effort should serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration to youths across Ilorin Emirate and Nigeria, urging them to emulate his commitment to excellence, innovation, and global relevance.
