As preparations intensify for its 12th empowerment programme, the Ilorin Emirate Youth Development Association (IEYDA), under the auspices of the Emir of Ilorin, Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, has paid a working visit to one of its beneficiaries from the January 5, 2025 training and empowerment programme, held in partnership with Kwara LPRES, who has now excelled in livestock production.
Just Event Online TV reports, During the visit, IEYDA National President, Alhaji Uthman Jagunma, applauded the beneficiary’s commitment and resilience, stressing that young people can become self-reliant through empowerment opportunities rather than resorting to begging.
“We are proud of your progress. This is a clear example that youths do not need to beg for money before they can take care of themselves and their families,” Jagunma said.
Responding, the Chief Executive Officer of Sidiq Integrated Farm, Abdulqodir Sidiq Idiagbon, expressed gratitude to IEYDA for the support, noting that the goat empowerment he received has transformed his life.
“Since I was given goat empowerment, I have fully dived into livestock production, and the animals have continued to multiply. I have also expanded into chicken and turkey rearing, as well as fish farming. The proceeds have helped me fund my Higher National Diploma (HND) education,” Idiagbon stated.
The visit comes as IEYDA prepares to roll out its 12th empowerment scheme, aimed at equipping more youths across the Ilorin Emirate with sustainable means of livelihood.
