A four-day free medical outreach organised by Hon. Muktar Tolani Shagaya, Member representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, has successfully concluded, delivering essential healthcare services to hundreds of residents across the constituency.

The outreach, held in partnership with the National Productivity Centre and Mai Concept Technologies Limited, recorded strong community participation and was widely described as impactful and timely. Medical teams were deployed to four strategic locations: Afon on January 5, Aisha Buhari Teaching Hospital, Eyenkorin on January 6, Balogun Ajikobi Compound on January 7, and Ode Segi Magaji Babatunde/Magaji Segi on January 8.
Residents benefited from a range of free medical services aimed at improving access to healthcare, particularly for vulnerable members of the community.
Speaking at the conclusion of the exercise, Hon. Shagaya expressed appreciation to the people of Ilorin West/Asa and neighbouring communities for their cooperation and active participation, noting that their support was central to the success of the initiative. He also commended the National Productivity Centre and Mai Concept Technologies Ltd. for their partnership and commitment.
“These modest but meaningful gains strengthen my resolve to do more for our people,” the lawmaker said, adding that plans are underway to expand the outreach to more communities. He noted that the intervention complements the welfare-focused agenda of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, Executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.
Hon. Shagaya also acknowledged the support of key stakeholders across the constituency, including Hon. AbdulRahman Babatunde Landan, Executive Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government; Prince (Hon.) Sulaiman Abubakar Sai Kai, Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters to the Kwara State Governor; Hon. Lawal Monsurat, the Senior Special Assistant on Women Mobilization to the Kwara State Governor; Hon. Tejidini Sulaiman, APC Ward Chairman, Ilorin West; the Balogun Ajikobi, Magaji Segi, Alh. Issa Amosa (Asa Apc Elder); Alh. Ibrahim (Mogaji Afon); Hajia Issa Rasheedat Ototori (Asa Council Vice Chairman); Alh. AbdulRasaq ( Supervising Councillor for works, Asa); Alh. Shuaib Oluale (Asa Apc Vice Chairman); Alhaja Sidikat (Asa Apc women leader); Hon. Abdulganiyu Ridwan (Councillor, Otte-Ballah ward), and other community leaders and respected personalities, whose collaboration contributed to the smooth execution of the programme.
He attributed the success of the outreach to the leadership and policy direction of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, describing the initiative as part of a broader vision to strengthen social welfare delivery across the state.
The medical outreach, participants noted, has reinforced community confidence in responsive representation and underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting public health and wellbeing.
