The Wakilin of Ilorin Emirate and Chairman of Crystal Group of Companies, Hon. Mashood Mustapha (MM), has extended his heartfelt condolences to victims of the recent fire outbreak at the Challenge phone market in Ilorin.
In a statement issued on Friday by his Head of Media and Public Relations, Dr. Opeyemi Aregbesola and made available to Just Event Online TV , Hon. Mustapha described the incident as a devastating loss for business owners in the market, many of whom lost goods worth millions of naira.
“I am deeply saddened to hear about the inferno that razed down some parts of the Challenge phone market where the business owners recorded losses running into millions of naira,” the statement read. “I commiserate with the victims of this unfortunate incident. Losing one’s investment is disheartening and I pray that God will restore all that has been lost in multiple folds.”
As a gesture of support, Hon. Mustapha pledged to support them with sum of N1,000,000 to assist the affected traders in recovering from their losses.
He also called on the Kwara State Government to intervene swiftly by providing relief and facilitating the relocation of the market to a safer and more conducive environment.
“The government should consider relocating the market to a location with ample parking space, adequate security, and modern firefighting facilities.
This move will not only benefit the traders but also enhance Kwara’s image as an investment-friendly state,” he added.
