The meeting, which drew over 1,180 women including elderly citizens and widows, was aimed at fostering political inclusion and support for the APC-led administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
According to a press statement made available to Just Event Online TV on Wednesday afternoon highlighted the significance of the gathering in advancing women’s participation in local politics.
“This is a women-focused forum that will cut across all wards of the Local Government in support of the Governor and the Chairman,” Hon. Bamigbade stated during her address. “Women play vital roles in elections but are often sidelined in governance. That narrative is changing under the gender-inclusive policies of Governor AbdulRazaq.”
She urged women to see the 2027 general elections as a platform to assert their political influence, adding that her group aims to strengthen solidarity among women and promote active civic engagement.
Hon. Bamigbade also announced an upcoming empowerment initiative targeting thousands of women — including widows, aged residents, and party loyalists — across Ifelodun LGA. She noted that her previous empowerment effort during Ramadan reached over 350 women in Idofian alone and was personally funded.
In her remarks, the APC Women Leader for Ifelodun LGA, Mrs. Taofikat Jumoke, praised Bamigbade’s passion and consistency. “It is inspiring to see someone give back so selflessly to her community. Our women are truly grateful,” she said.
