The Nigeria Governors’ Forum, in collaboration with key stakeholders in the education sector, has unveiled plans to convene a major education summit in December aimed at tackling persistent challenges in the country’s education system, including low enrolment, inadequate funding, and declining learning outcomes.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Steering Committee for the Nigeria Education Forum Summit on Thursday in Abuja, the NGF Director General, Abdulateef Shittu, said the summit will operate under the theme “Pathways to Sustainable Education Financing: Developing a Synergy between the Town and Gown in Nigeria.”
He said the initiative is designed as a national platform to bring together critical stakeholders from across the education ecosystem to develop coordinated and practical solutions to Nigeria’s human capital challenges.
“The Nigerian Governors Forum is providing an annual platform through the Nigerian Education Forum for critical stakeholders to exchange diverse perspectives, explore a wide range of issues, and discover solutions that can transform our educational system into a driver of sustainable socio-economic growth,” Shittu stated
