FRSC warns motorists against assaulting operatives

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned the motoring public to desist from assaulting its operatives in the course of discharging their duties.

Mr Anthony Uga, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, gave the warning while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sango-Ota on Monday.

Uga said that the warning was necessary as FRSC had zero tolerance for assaulting its personnel.

“Any motorist who decides to assault FRSC personnel will be apprehended and handed over to the police and the person will be charged to court accordingly for assaulting a uniformed personnel.

Uga also said it was an offence for an FRSC operative to assault any motoring public, and anyone engaged in such act would be charged for an offence against members of the public.

The sector commander noted that the FRSC is not a conquering force but operatives to maintain sanity on the highways.
