The Osi Central Mosque, in Ekiti LGA of Kwara State on Wednesday 10th of April, 2024, after the Eid-el-Fitr prayer, hosted the 3rd Annual Ramadan 2024 Quran Competition proudly sponsored by Al-Lateef Islamic Foundation (ALIF).
The event which has three categories of 5 Juz, 10 Juz and 20 Juz, all for both male and female genders had children from various backgrounds participate and made it a memorable one.
The Quranic recitation competition was keenly contested as the people of Osi gathered to witness another spiritually rewarding exercise after the Eid fitr prayer in the community.
The chairman organizing committee for the programme, Mallam Abubakar Abdulganiyu appreciated the founder of Al-Lateef Islamic Foundation – ALIF, Hajia Aishat Alabi Abd’Lateef for sustaining the exercise for the benefit of the younger ones in the community.
While also acknowledging the members of the organizing committee and the clerics who administer the event, expressed deep gratitude over the successes recorded at the 3rd Ramadan Quran Competition where winners emerged from all three categories for both male and female genders.
“Alhamdulilah, I want to especially appreciate the founder of Al-Lateef Islamic Foundation, Hajia Alabi Aishat Abd’Lateef for her consistency, endurance and commitment to ensure the programme is massively improved and sustained beyond the first edition which was in 2022”, he stated.
Mallam Abdulganiyu thanked and applauded the founder’s husband, Mr Abd’lateef xxxxxxxxx, for his relentless efforts and supportive roles in sustaining the programme and making it an annual tradition in Osi Community, Osi, Ekiti LGA of Kwara state.
The Chief Imam of Osi, and chairman of the League of Imams and Ulama in Ekiti LGA, Alhaji Saadudeen Abdulsalam Ajisefinni, on his remark, congratulated the participants and their parents for choosing to enrich their learning and memorizing the holy Qur’an.
Imam Ajisefinni urged them to utilize the opportunity provided by ALIF and the experiences gained during this year’s Quran competition to strengthen their relationships with Allah and solve human problems in society.
The Imam also commended the effort of Hajia Alabi Aishat Abd’lateef for the organization of such a spiritually rewarding programme that has to do with the development of Islam and harmonizing the younger ones among the Muslim Community in Osi and beyond.
The founder, Mrs Aisha Alabi Abd’lateef, through the foundation, rewarded both the winners and all the participants went home with cash and numerous gift items at the end of the Al-Lateef Islamic Foundation 3rd Ramadan 2024 Quran Competition.
The chairman organizing committee, Mallam Abdulganiyu, on behalf of the foundation, gave an assurance of continued spiritual and meaningful programmes that will impact positively the lives of both younger ones and the generality of the Osi Muslim Community.
