No fewer than 238 persons have lost their lives, while 135,764 others have been displaced following floods that swept through parts of the country as of October 10, 2025, Sunday PUNCH reports.
This is according to figures obtained from the National Emergency Management Agency’s 2025 Flood Dashboard on Saturday.
The dashboard shows that at least 409,714 people have been affected so far, with 826 sustaining various degrees of injuries and 115 reported missing across the country.
Flood-related deaths were recorded in multiple states, bringing the nationwide death toll to 238.
The disaster also left 47,708 houses damaged or destroyed and submerged about 62,653 hectares of cultivated farmland, further compounding concerns over food shortages and loss of livelihoods.
The most impacted states include Adamawa, where 60,608 people were affected; Lagos, with 57,951 affected; and Akwa Ibom, where 46,233 people were impacted.
Others severely hit are Taraba, with 28,107 affected; Imo, which recorded 26,041 affected; Kaduna, with 24,240 affected; and Rivers, where 22,345 people were impacted by the floods
