The Federal Polytechnic Offa, Kwara State has been confirmed as the next institution to host the Nigerian Polytechnic Games ( NIPOGA ) for the year 2024.
This was contained in a letter of award of hosting rights signed by the Secretary General of the Council of Heads of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria, Mas’ud Elelu, and addressed to the Rector, Engr. Dr. Kadiri Kamoru Oluwatoyin on Tuesday 27th of February 2024.
The letter reads in part,” At the COHEADS meeting held on Tuesday 27th February 2024, the Council resolved to grant your institution the hosting rights for NIPOGA 2024.
… On behalf of the Chairman and members of COHEADS, Please accept my congratulations.”
Reacting to this development, the Rector commended COHEADS and NIPOGA council for granting the Federal Polytechnic Offa hosting rights for the first time in the history of the Polytechnic. Dr. Kadiri noted that the opportunity will not be taken for granted, as the Polytechnic will put all measures in place for successful sporting activities.
Speaking further, the Rector described the NIPOGA hosting rights as one of his accomplished missions for the entire Polytechnic community. He therefore assured the COHEADS and NIPOGA council of total cooperation and support from the host community, with a conducive and secure atmosphere for all contingents and visitors.
While congratulating the Rector, management team, and the Polytechnic community, the Head of Public Relations Unit, Mrs. Esther Folake Oyinloye described the Rector as a leader who is passionate about driving development to the Polytechnic in all ramifications. She said Dr. Kadiri’s led management has set many records in the history of the Polytechnic based on development, adding that the NIPOGA 2024 hosting rights is another first of its kind in the history of the institution under the leadership of the visionary Rector.
