Director General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), Dr. Ifedayo Adetifa, has called for increased budget allocation, release and tracking for Health.
He hoped President Bola Tinubu’s administration would attract more funding for health, given identification of priority areas through Joint External Evaluation (JEE).
Adetifa spoke at an event for JEE, a global body which involves experts assessing a country’s preparedness and response capabilities.
Adetifa said: “We need to prioritise health. Health goes beyond capital projects – buildings and facilities. You need human capital, equipment, training, and quality systems. Once we get the political leadership to prioritise health, then health will get more funding.
