There was a harvest of prizes for fellows who distinguished themselves at the ongoing Countryside Emerging Leaders Fellowship (CELF) camp in Ilorin.
The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Executive Farm consult, Ahmed Idris who paid a courtesy visit on fellows on Wednesday awarded the scholarship to a fellow, Abdulwaheed Sulyman from Ilorin West Local Government of Kwara State following his expression of interest to become an agricpreneur.
Mr Idris added that, while sponsoring Sulyman’s education, he will also be employed by his company as an intern with pay.
The Executive Farmer, who also donated 13 kilos of chicken to support CELF programme said, the gesture was in fulfillment of his company’s corporate social responsibility to support youths who have interest in agriculture.
In his reaction, Suleiman, who won the scholarship award, expressed his appreciation for the gesture as he promised to make use of the opportunity judiciously.
Mr Idris however commended the organisers, describing CELF as a life-changing programme.
On his part, the Managing Director and Lead software developer. Plat Technologies, Ilorin, Engineer Taofik Abdulkareem, who supported the programme with cash prize, also presented copies of motivational books by Nigerian authors to the fellows.
Aminat Idris and Ismail Kamaldeen, who were the outstanding fellows in one of the entrepreneurship sessions, were awarded a masterclass training on entrepreneurship and personal finance management
Announcing the scholarship, Miss Haleemah Gegele said the gesture was aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and self-development skills among the youths.
