Expert encourage sports activities in school Sports

 

An expert, Alhaji Tahjudeen Bolaji, Proprietor of Al-Ikhlas Schools Ilorin, has said that sports makes children strong, healthy and teaches them to accept defeat and celebrate victory.

Bolaji made the statement on Wednesday in Ilorin, during the third Inter House Sports Competition of Al-Ikhlas Schools, Ilorin.

Bolaji urged the students to always be ready to participate in sports, as there are lessons in life to be learnt from competition.

“You are representing your various houses who have put their trust in you and you should always do your best to make them proud.

“In life as well as in sports, you need determination when it’s tough. Yes, sport is fair and adequate, but do not disappoint your family who have absolute trust in you.

The proprietor noted that the sport officials did a great job in proper organisation, fairness and transparency.

He acknowledged the official effort in raising the overall standard of the school sport activities.

Bolaji appreciated the tremendous support of the school management, members of staff, learners, parents and guardians, as well as invited guests.

Mallam Dhikrullahi Lawal, Chairman of the event stated that the competition was to show case the talent of learners and prepare them for external competition.

The Chairman said that the students had participated in external competition in the past and won some prizes for the school.

He urged the students to buckle up on their sports activities and be positive that they will always succeed in all their endeavors.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that twenty seven schools were invited for the event and they also participated in the competition, in which thirteen schools won prizes.

NAN reports that Abubakar House took the first position, while the second position goes to Ali House and the third position goes to Uthman House.
